Attorney General Pam Bondi asserted that the deportation of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, an alleged MS-13 member, to El Salvador improved the safety of his family. She emphasized that his previous domestic violence allegations had created an unsafe environment for his wife and child. Garcia was deported due to an administrative error and had faced legal troubles related to accusations of abuse. While his wife continues to advocate for his return, Bondi maintains that the removal of Garcia from the U.S. has made everyone involved more secure.
Attorney General Pam Bondi stated, "America is safer because he is gone. Maryland is safer because he is gone. And that woman that he is married to and that child he had with her, they are safer tonight because he is out of our country and sitting in El Salvador where he belongs."
Despite the family's wishes to reunite, Bondi argued that the deportation of Kilmar Abrego Garcia has actually made his family safer, noting the history of domestic abuse allegations against him.
