One dead in explosion at Palm Springs fertility clinic, police say
Briefly

An explosion at a fertility clinic in Palm Springs on Saturday resulted in at least one death, prompting an investigation into its nature as potentially intentional violence. Police Chief Andrew Mills confirmed the blast occurred near the American Reproductive Centers but has not determined if it was a targeted attack. Fortunately, the clinic's staff was unharmed and the IVF lab remained intact. The local FBI is aiding in the investigation, with officials expressing their condemnation of violence against reproductive health facilities.
"The explosion's force extends for blocks with several buildings damaged - some severely," Mills wrote. The person who was killed has not been identified.
"Our IVF lab is intact," Abdallah said. "Embryos were not affected in any way."
"Violence against a fertility clinic is unforgivable," U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi stated, emphasizing the Trump administration's stance on the matter.
The clinic provides in vitro fertilization, egg freezing, surrogacy, LGBTQ+ family building and other services to the Coachella valley.
