Harry Irvine Burdick Jr., a man in his 60s, was charged with two counts of felony bigamy after authorities discovered three marriage licenses naming him. Investigators began the probe following a report filed in April that revealed marriages in Lincoln, Davidson and Guilford counties. Officials reported they could not locate divorce records showing termination of his first marriage before the subsequent weddings. Authorities said financial motivation and personal gain underpinned the multiple marriages. Burdick was charged Aug. 22 and released on a written promise to appear in court on Sept. 22. Law enforcement requests that any additional potential victims come forward.
