A New Jersey state trooper killed his ex-girlfriend, Lauren Semanchik, and her new boyfriend, Tyler Webb, before committing suicide amid a stalking situation. Police responded to reports of an unconscious woman and found both victims dead from gunshot wounds, leading to the identification of Ricardo Santos, Semanchik's ex-boyfriend, as a suspect. Santos was later found deceased in his car with a handgun believed to be the murder weapon. Semanchik had previously reported stalking incidents and had installed cameras in her car, which captured incriminating footage.

Semanchik's family described a terrifying scene, indicating that it appeared she was running away when she was shot in the back.
