NJ state trooper kills ex-girlfriend, her new boyfriend in murder-suicide after months of stalking her: 'She deserved so much better'
Briefly

A New Jersey state trooper killed his ex-girlfriend, Lauren Semanchik, and her new boyfriend, Tyler Webb, before committing suicide amid a stalking situation. Police responded to reports of an unconscious woman and found both victims dead from gunshot wounds, leading to the identification of Ricardo Santos, Semanchik's ex-boyfriend, as a suspect. Santos was later found deceased in his car with a handgun believed to be the murder weapon. Semanchik had previously reported stalking incidents and had installed cameras in her car, which captured incriminating footage.
Inside, officers found Lauren Semanchik, 33, and Tyler Webb, 29, dead from gunshot wounds in what prosecutors called a "targeted attack."
A semiautomatic handgun, believed to be the murder weapon, was found beside Santos as investigators learned he was a suspect in the murders.
Footage captured her vehicle leaving her veterinary office in Long Valley at 5:25 p.m. Friday, revealing Santos' Mercedes closely following her.
Semanchik's family described a terrifying scene, indicating that it appeared she was running away when she was shot in the back.
