The Executive Board unanimously appointed Deputy Executive Director Bruce Meyer as Interim Executive Director and elevated Matt Nussbaum to Interim Deputy Executive Director. Meyer joined the MLBPA in 2018 as Senior Director for Collective Bargaining and Legal and led negotiations on the 2020 and 2022 Major League Basic Agreements and the 2023 Minor League Basic Agreement. Meyer previously served as a senior advisor at the NHLPA and as a partner at Weil, Gotshal & Manges. Meyer will continue as the MLBPA's chief negotiator for the next Basic Agreement, which expires in December.
