Mass. police department offers 'Valentine's Day Special' for wanted exes
"Roses are red, violets are blue... If your ex has a warrant, we've got something special for you. This Valentine's Day, give the gift that really delivers - a ride with flashing lights and guaranteed closure. Love fades. Warrants don't. Have an ex with a warrant? We can't fix your love life, but we *can* help with outstanding warrants. We'll make sure they get a Valentine's Day visit."
"I've never loved social media more than when police started coming to the party. You guys are unhinged and I'm here for it. We can't fix your love life, but we *can* help with outstanding warrants. We'll make sure they get a Valentine's Day visit. This Valentine's Day, give the gift that really delivers - a ride with flashing lights and guaranteed closure. Love fades. Warrants don't."
Uxbridge Police used a Valentine-themed Facebook message and a pink, heart-covered flyer to encourage residents to report exes with outstanding warrants. The flyer asked, "Have an ex with a warrant?" and promised a "Valentine's Day visit" with flashing lights and "guaranteed closure." The department provided its main phone number for tips and urged residents to send whereabouts. The post received nearly 7,000 likes and more than 400 comments, with many community members amused. Similar Valentine's Day-themed warrant reminders appeared from police departments in New Hampshire, Ohio, Nebraska, and New York.
