From 2015 to 2021, Travis John Branson traveled to the Flathead Indian Reservation to conduct a relentless killing spree, claiming hundreds of eagles and hawks, which he butchered and sold on the black market for profit, leading to severe legal consequences.
Mr. Branson's actions were described by U.S. attorney Jesse Laslovich as 'self-described killing sprees' for thousands of eagles and hawks, indicating a severe disregard for wildlife preservation laws.
Investigators were able to trace Mr. Branson's involvement through text messages that detailed his transactions and correspondence related to trafficking bird parts, highlighting the extent of the black market trade.
In total, Mr. Branson, in collaboration with others, was responsible for killing and trafficking approximately 3,600 birds, leading to significant restitution and a prison sentence as a response to his severe environmental crimes.
