
"OAKLAND A man who was winning a fistfight Oct. 29 before he was jumped and beaten by three of his opponent's friends, prompting him to get a gun and allegedly shoot the man he had been fighting with, has been charged with attempted murder and carrying a loaded firearm in public, according to authorities and court records. The suspect, Ricardo Patron, 39, of Oakland, has pleaded not guilty to the charges and has a pre-trial hearing set for Dec. 8."
"Patron had gotten into a fistfight for unknown reasons with a 28-year-old man he did not know. Patron was winning the fight when three friends of the younger man intervened and severely beat him. He went to his nearby home where, according to court records, he got a pistol, came back to the site where the four men were and allegedly shot the younger man, firing several rounds at him as he tried to run away."
Ricardo Patron, 39, of Oakland, is charged with attempted murder and carrying a loaded firearm in public after an Oct. 29 confrontation in the Fruitvale district. Patron engaged in a fistfight with a 28-year-old stranger and was winning when three friends of the younger man intervened and beat him. Patron returned home, obtained a pistol, then came back and allegedly fired several rounds at the younger man as he fled. The victim drove himself to a hospital and was released. Patron sought treatment at an Alameda hospital, was identified by Oakland officers using surveillance and clothing matches, arrested, and is held without bail.
