A 23-year-old Lowell man turned himself in after a warrant was issued for his arrest following an alleged fatal hit-and-run. He faces a felony charge of leaving the scene of personal injury and death following a fatal crash. Police were notified on May 24 that a pedestrian had been hit on Pawtucket Boulevard. Officers found a 29-year-old woman in the roadway and she died from injuries after being taken to a nearby hospital. Surveillance and FLOCK camera footage identified the man as the driver of a Ford Explorer involved in the crash. He pleaded not guilty and is held on a $7,500 cash bond. If he posts bail, he must wear a GPS monitoring device, cannot drive, and must surrender his passport. ICE custody is expected after the criminal case concludes, and a probable cause hearing is scheduled for June 25.
