Daniel Park, charged with aiding the bomber of a fertility clinic in California, died in federal custody shortly after being arrested. Park was accused of supplying chemicals to Guy Edward Bartkus, who died in a bombing that destroyed the clinic in May. Their connection stemmed from shared anti-procreation beliefs discussed in fringe online forums. Park was arrested after fleeing to Poland and had a significant quantity of ammonium nitrate shipped to Bartkus before the attack. His death occurred under unclear circumstances in a Los Angeles detention center, raising further inquiries.
Park shipped 180lbs (82kg) of ammonium nitrate to Bartkus in January and, days before the explosion, bought another 90lbs (41kg) for him.
Authorities said Park traveled to California to experiment with the materials in Bartkus's garage months before the attack, evidencing solid premeditation.
