The Boston office of the FBI contacted Salisbury police on Tuesday morning regarding social media threats of firearm and explosive use, Salisbury police said. Salisbury police and the Northeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council collaborated to arrest the suspect around 12:43 p.m. that day."
"Scott Merchant, 36, was charged with bomb/hijack threat and threat to commit a crime, according to charging documents. Merchant was set to reappear in court on Thursday for a hearing to determine if bail can be set, according to court documents. The investigation remains ongoing."
