"Eagle Pass continues to rise, and today's announcement is another step toward a stronger future for our families,"
"Reliable, high-speed Internet is no longer a luxury - it's a necessity for education, business, health care, and everyday life. I am grateful to Light Fiber for choosing Eagle Pass and believing in our community's potential."
Lyte Fiber, a Houston-based fiber internet company, will invest more than $18 million to design, build, and operate a state-of-the-art fiber-optic network across Eagle Pass. The network will deliver multi-gigabit speeds and reliability, connecting nearly 16,500 homes and businesses via more than 175 miles of new fiber infrastructure. Construction is scheduled to begin shortly with completion expected in the second half of 2026. The project aims to strengthen local connectivity, boost economic growth, expand digital opportunity, create an estimated 35 full-time jobs, prioritize local hiring and contracting, and provide a 1 percent giveback to support schools and nonprofits.
