"JEFFERSON, Texas (Oct. 7, 2025) - Lyte Fiber today announced a major, private investment of more than $2 million in the City of Jefferson to bring a multi-gigabit, all-fiber network to homes and businesses across the city. The Texas-based company is building a best-in-class network designed for speed, reliability, and resilience. "Designed with speed and durability in mind, Lyte's network will be capable of speeds up to 10 Gbps, and features buried main lines and multiple levels of redundancy to ensure Jefferson stays connected, even when the power goes out. The Texas-strong network is designed, built, and operated by Texans for Texans. Construction has begun, with the first customers expected to be online mid-October."
Lyte Fiber is investing more than $2 million to deploy a multi-gigabit, all-fiber network across Jefferson, Texas, serving homes and businesses. The network will support speeds up to 10 Gbps, use buried main lines, and include multiple redundancy layers to maintain connectivity during power outages. Construction has begun with first customers expected online mid-October; the initial phase covers 23 miles of fiber to more than 1,550 premises. The network is designed, built, and operated locally, will include a Texas-based customer service center, expand across Marion County, and provide a 1 percent annual giveback to local charities.
