Former President Donald Trump was found guilty by a New York jury on 34 counts of falsifying business records to conceal a hush money payment to an adult-film actress. This is the first time a former U.S. president has been convicted of a crime.
Democrats and Republicans are both seeking to understand the implications of Trump's conviction on the upcoming race for the White House. Trump is set to be sentenced on July 11, just before the Republican National Convention, although the conviction does not necessarily prevent him from running for president again.
