An anticipated release of 80,000 documents related to President John F. Kennedy's assassination will take place, as ordered by President Trump. The timing was confirmed during a recent tour of the Kennedy Center, where Trump stated the significance of unveiling these old files. While many important documents have already been disclosed, some remained classified under Biden's administration. Historians believe the remaining files may not reveal new insights about the assassination that occurred in 1963, maintaining the narrative of Lee Harvey Oswald as the lone gunman.
While we're here, I thought it would be appropriate we are, tomorrow, announcing and giving all of the Kennedy files... people have been waiting for decades for this.
The release of the remaining JFK files could shed light on some details surrounding the Nov. 22, 1963, assassination, but are unlikely to upset the accepted narrative.
300,000 pages of material related to Kennedy had already been released and the remainder was not going to reveal something new about John Kennedy's assassination.
Even if they don't alter our understanding in this deep way, I think there is still significant historical value in making the documents public.
