Lanning states Ducks' CFP case, jabs at SEC sked
"We didn't play Chattanooga State today, right? Like some other places,"
"We competed. It's tough playing nine conference games. It's tough playing in this league."
"We can beat you in multiple ways, right? We can outscore you at times, right. We can hold you to the 18, 16-[point] type of game, win in tough environments, any weather, put the ball down, let's go play football. That's the kind of team that we have."
"A lot of times, we play really good teams and they become unranked, all of a sudden. That's not our fault, right?"
Oregon beat USC 42-27 to secure its tenth win and move to 10-1, holding a No. 7 CFP ranking. The Ducks outgained USC 436 yards to 382, limited USC to 52 rushing yards, and forced two turnovers despite losing their starting center and missing receivers Dakorien Moore and Gary Bryant Jr. Special teams and offensive balance contributed significantly to the victory. Coach Dan Lanning emphasized the difficulty of nine conference games, the team’s ability to win in multiple ways, and the challenge of how opponents’ rankings change when assessing playoff credentials.
