The US and Iran are engaged in negotiations to limit Tehran's nuclear program, with ongoing discussions viewed positively by the International Atomic Energy Agency's head, Rafael Mariano Grossi. While five rounds of talks have occurred, resulting in some progress, the final agreement remains uncertain. Grossi emphasizes the importance of continuous dialogue, suggesting it reflects a willingness to negotiate. Mediators from Oman have facilitated these talks, with pressure from both the US and Israel regarding Iran's nuclear capabilities. Discussions aim to exchange limits on Iran's program for the easing of US sanctions.
"For the moment, the jury is still out. We don't know whether there's going to be an agreement or not," Grossi said. He stressed, however, that the ongoing dialogue is positive.
"We hope to clarify the remaining issues in the coming days, to allow us to proceed towards the common goal of reaching a sustainable and honourable agreement," al-Busaidi added.
