Judge Keeps Block on Harvard International Student Ban
Briefly

A federal judge upheld a temporary restraining order preventing the Trump administration from revoking Harvard University's ability to enroll international students. The ruling followed Harvard's lawsuit claiming a violation of the First Amendment and due process rights. While the administration agreed to a formal process for decertifying Harvard, Judge Allison Burroughs intends to issue a preliminary injunction. This order aims to protect anxious international students currently enrolled, ensuring they can continue their studies without fear amid the ongoing legal contest between Harvard and the government.
Judge Burroughs stated that her order would provide "some protection to international students who might be anxious about coming here or anxious about remaining here once they are here."
Harvard's lawyer Ian Heath Gershengorn argued, "we want to make sure there are no shenanigans" while Harvard challenges the Trump administration's action.
