Jimmy Carter's journey home: Mapping the funeral plans for the coming days
Briefly

Before President Jimmy Carter is buried in a private ceremony in Plains, Georgia, his body will travel to the Georgia Capitol and the U.S. Capitol for public farewells.
Carter died Dec. 29 in his home at age 100 in the southwest Georgia town of Plains, where he and Rosalynn, his wife of 77 years, resided for most of their lives.
On the way, the hearse will pause at Carter's boyhood home and farm in Plains, where he lived from age 4 until he left for college.
The motorcade will stop at the campus of The Carter Center, which the president founded in 1982 as the hub of his humanitarian and conflict resolution work.
