Irish land WR Fitzgerald, son of ex-NFL star Larry
Briefly

Devin Fitzgerald, a Class of 2026 wide receiver from Brophy Prep in Arizona and son of NFL legend Larry Fitzgerald, announced his commitment to Notre Dame. Ranked as the 71st wide receiver prospect nationally, he chose the Fighting Irish over UCLA. Fitzgerald's recruitment has been consistent, with Notre Dame offering him a scholarship only last May after he showcased impressive performance with 52 receptions for 720 yards and nine touchdowns. He praised wide receivers coach Mike Brown, indicating plans for early playing opportunities at Notre Dame.
"I've developed into a better ballplayer and they really think I'm going to turn into a great player," Fitzgerald told ESPN. "I've known Coach Brown since I was five years old. He's shown me that I can come in, step up and play early. That's their plan with me."
Fitzgerald's recruitment to the Irish was led by Notre Dame wide receivers coach Mike Brown, who played in the NFL from 2012-15.
