Igloo recalls over a million coolers after handle hazard causes fingertip amputations
Briefly

Igloo has issued a recall for over 1 million "Igloo 90 Qt. Flip & Tow Rolling Coolers" sold across the U.S., Mexico, and Canada due to safety hazards involving the tow handle, which has led to serious fingertip injuries, including amputations. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission reported that consumers should immediately cease using the product and contact Igloo for a free handle replacement. The coolers, ranging in price from $80 to $140, were sold at major retailers from 2019 to January 2025, with around 1.06 million sold in the U.S. alone.
Consumers in possession of the coolers are urged to stop using them immediately and contact Igloo for a free replacement handle.
The affected products can be identified by model number and description, and they were sold in multiple colors with the word 'IGLOO' printed on the side.
