ICE Warns International Students of More SEVIS Terminations
Briefly

Immigration officials have begun sending notifications to international students on Optional Practical Training (OPT) visas, warning them of potential termination of their legal status. This development marks a renewed effort from the Trump administration to enforce immigration regulations against student visa holders. The letters specify that students who do not report their employment status within a stipulated time frame risk having their SEVIS records terminated, resulting in deportation. Initial reports confirm at least 35 students have received such notifications, highlighting a concerning trend for international students in the U.S.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement warned those who have not reported employment status within 90 days of starting their OPT visa that they must do so in 15 days.
It's the first sign that the Trump administration is resuming its campaign to deport student visa holders, weeks after restoring the status of thousands of students.
