A letter written in 1945 from a naval base in Virginia wound up in a glass bottle more than 800 miles away in Florida, where it was found last week after Hurricane Debby. The letter, addressed to Lee from Chris, was discovered by Suzanne Flament-Smith amidst storm debris.
Ms. Flament-Smith, while cleaning up debris after the storm, discovered the bottle with the letter inside. She chose to wait until she got home to open it, highlighting her respect and curiosity for the contents.
