Two people, Jalen Pina, 20, and Benjamin Cowart, 27, were killed at a child's birthday party at the Saint John Baptist Club in Carver on Jan. 24. Families launched fundraisers to cover funeral costs and other expenses, with Pina's GoFundMe reaching its $18,000 goal and Cowart's raising more than $7,000 as of Wednesday evening. Two other victims, ages 28 and 32, were taken to local hospitals. The alleged shooter, 23-year-old Nicholas Meuse, faces two counts of murder, armed assault, intent to murder, and multiple gun charges in Wareham District Court. Meuse has pleaded not guilty. Massachusetts State Police and the Carver Police Department continue to investigate.
