"I can't fully express how much those moments have meant to me and Ethan."
Ethan Pritchard, a Florida State freshman linebacker who was shot Aug. 31 in the back of the head in an incident authorities describe as mistaken identity, was released from Tallahassee Memorial Hospital nearly six weeks later. He is alert, responsive and able to communicate and will move to Brooks Rehabilitation in Jacksonville for the next stage of recovery. The Florida State team cheered as he was wheeled out of the hospital. Four people were arrested in connection with the shooting. Family and staff, including coach Mike Norvell and school medical teams, provided ongoing support.
