Four arrested in San Jose gang-motivated assault

"The incident happened around 4:40 p.m. on Aug. 24 in the 1500 block of Bahama Way, according to San Jose police spokesperson Stacie Shih. The victim, a man, was walking in the area when the suspects, a man and three boys, approached him, Shih said, adding that the suspects believed the victim was a rival gang member and chased after him. One of the suspects pulled out a knife and tried to stab the victim in the neck, Shih said."

"Detectives launched an investigation and discovered two of the suspects were also involved in a gang-motivated robbery and assault with a deadly weapon on Aug. 30 in the area of Clarice and Huran drives, Shih said. The victim in that case was a boy. The suspects were identified as San Jose residents, ages 19, 18, 16 and 14, Shih said, adding that the 18-year-old was a juvenile at the time of the Aug. 24 incident."
