The Everett Fire Department responded around 1:50 a.m. to 25 Charlton St., where they were met with heavy smoke and an active sprinkler on the building's sixth floor, the department said on social media. Wark said on Tuesday the fire is being investigated as "suspicious" after an examination of the scene and witness interviews. The incident is under investigation by Everett Fire and Police departments and State Police fire investigators, Wark said.
