Briefly

"Major cost drivers of the Program generally align with those in the commercial market. The premium increases are due to the impact of price increases by providers and suppliers, increased utilization of certain prescription drugs, and behavioral health spending."
"These increases are unwelcome news that will no doubt cause sticker shock for federal and postal employees and retirees across the country," said Bill Shackelford, president of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association.
"That sticker price may not be what you pay if you compare plans and shop for a more affordable alternative," Shackelford noted, emphasizing the importance of reviewing different plans.
"The Federal Employees Health Benefits Program (FEHB) plans announced other changes in coverage starting in 2025, including comprehensive IVF services and all artificial insemination methods."
