Cristofer Alexander Larreinaga Corea was charged with felony vehicular manslaughter after a Novato crash that killed 14-year-old Emanuely Souza. The Marin County District Attorney filed an amended complaint after Souza died following earlier charges. Larreinaga Corea also faces felony hit-and-run causing death, hit-and-run driving resulting in injury, reckless driving causing injury and child endangerment. Police say the crash occurred about 3 a.m. Aug. 13 when Larreinaga Corea allegedly drove at high speeds, ran stop signs and crashed into a tree in a center median, then fled the scene. Officers later arrested him; he remains jailed without bail. A Sept. 2 hearing is scheduled. He also faces a July 23 alleged robbery charge and has pleaded not guilty.

Larreinaga Corea is also charged with felony hit-and-run causing death, hit-and-run driving resulting injury, reckless driving causing an injury and child endangerment. The girl was Emanuely Souza. Another passenger, a 15-year-old boy, also suffered injuries. Larreinaga Corea, a San Rafael resident, has yet to enter a plea. Judge Geoffrey Howard set the next hearing for Sept. 2. "It's just a tragedy all around," Larreinaga Corea's defense attorney, Matthew Siroka, said Tuesday.
The crash happened at about 3 a.m. Aug. 13 on Ignacio Boulevard near Entrada Drive. The 15-year-old allowed Larreinaga Corea to drive his vehicle after they visited a restaurant, according to a police report. Larreinaga Corea allegedly drove at high speeds, ran stop signs and lost control of the vehicle before crashing into a tree in a center median. Police said Larreinaga Corea fled the wreckage and left the two injured passengers behind.
