""We are grateful to the Concord Police Department and their public safety partners for their thorough investigation into threats made toward Superintendent Laurie Hunter,""
""The Concord and Concord‑Carlisle School Committees continue to stand firmly with Superintendent Hunter. We acknowledge her steady leadership during this challenging period.""
Beginning Sept. 22, Concord police received reports of signs placed around town directed at Superintendent Laurie Hunter. Concord police, Massachusetts State Police, and the Middlesex District Attorney's Office investigated and identified 56-year-old John Grace as a suspect. Superintendent Laurie Hunter had been granted a Harassment Protection Order against Grace in May. Grace was arrested at about 9:53 a.m. Tuesday and charged with violating that order; he was arraigned in Concord District Court later the same day. The Concord and Concord‑Carlisle school committees expressed support for Hunter and thanked public safety partners for the investigation. In 2022 Grace faced separate charges of threats and weapon-related threats; one charge resulted in a not-guilty verdict and the other was dropped.
