Charlie Didn't Suffer': Mentor Recounts Harrowing Effort To Save Charlie Kirk's Life On Way To Hospital
"I heard a shot, then, out of the corner of my eye, I see Charlie go back. And, so, I start to go toward Charlie, and I see that the security guys are already there. So, then I duck, thinking, Okay, maybe there's other shots coming.' Turek continued: I know the security guys are already taking him out. And so, I'm running with them toward the carIf you lost a son, what would you do?"
"I got into the car. Because if there was any way that I could save him, I had to do something. I couldn't just, You guys take him, you guys got it! And I'm coming over the back seat, and Charlie's laid out in front, right in front of me. And Charlie's so tall, we can't close the door. We drove four milesall the way to the hospital with the door open."
Frank Turek, founder of CrossExamined.org, was at a Utah Valley University event helping throw MAGA hats into the crowd when gunfire occurred. Turek heard a shot and saw Charlie Kirk fall; security reached Kirk and began moving him toward a vehicle. Turek entered the car to help, rode over the back seat with Kirk laid across the front, and the group drove several miles to the hospital with the door open while attempting to stop bleeding. Team members and Turek prayed aloud, used the horn and cut intersections, and attempted CPR while Kirk appeared unresponsive.
