Mr. Wasserman fully cooperated with the review. We found Mr. Wasserman's relationship with Epstein and Maxwell did not go beyond what has already been publicly documented."

The committee offered no additional details about the review but reiterated that it had examined the matter and concluded Wasserman should stay in place."
LA28's board reviewed Casey Wasserman's inclusion in recently released Jeffrey Epstein files and determined he will remain chair of the committee overseeing the 2028 Summer Games. Emails from 2003 showed exchanges between Wasserman and Ghislaine Maxwell. Outside counsel O'Melveny & Myers LLP conducted a review with Wasserman's full cooperation and concluded his interactions with Epstein and Maxwell did not go beyond publicly documented contacts. Twenty-three years ago Wasserman and his then-wife flew on Epstein's plane to Africa on a Clinton Foundation humanitarian mission; shortly after he exchanged the publicly known emails with Maxwell. The Executive Committee cited his decade of leadership in keeping him in place.
