""Senior officers from the NYPD and Shomrim are actively investigating,""
""We have added extra security on site and will continue to work closely with law enforcement to ensure the safety of our students and staff, which remains our top priority.""
"Two "half swastikas" or "Zs" were also found painted on the yeshiva, which includes an Orthodox Jewish elementary school, on McDonald Ave. near Avenue T, cops said."
Magen David Yeshiva in Gravesend was vandalized early Wednesday with two swastikas in red paint on a pillar and window and two "half swastikas" or "Zs" on the building. A security guard discovered the graffiti around 6:30 a.m. and called 911; police believe the symbols were painted after 12:30 a.m. The "zwastikas" are associated with Russian nationalists who back the invasion of Ukraine. The NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force and Shomrim are investigating and reviewing surveillance footage. School leaders added security and notified parents, emphasizing student and staff safety.
