Bob Barker's cause of death revealed in new report
"Bob Barker's cause of death was a result of Alzheimer's disease, according to a new report. The beloved animal rights activist and TV game show legend, known for hosting "The Price Is Right" for 35 years, died on Aug. 26 from the most common type of dementia. He was 99. His passing came "years" after his diagnosis, TMZ reported Tuesday, noting the death certificate obtained did not determine how long he battled the progressive disease."
"Publicist Roger Neal previously revealed that his longtime client died in his sleep at his Los Angeles home while under the care of Nancy Burnet, with whom he was in a relationship for 40 years. "The last five years of his life she was completely devoted to making sure that his healthcare, that his care on a daily, around-the-clock basis, was the top," he told ET."
Bob Barker died on Aug. 26 at age 99 from Alzheimer's disease, the most common form of dementia. The death occurred years after his diagnosis, and the death certificate did not specify the duration of his illness. He died in his sleep at his Los Angeles home while under the care of Nancy Burnet, his partner of 40 years. Publicist Roger Neal praised Burnet's around-the-clock caregiving during Barker's final five years. Burnet, who collaborated with Barker on exposing animal cruelty, serves as co-executor of his estate and said he will be missed. Barker requested no memorial services and will be buried next to his late wife, Dorothy Jo, at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery.
