Tom Williams, 56, has been named Bellarmine's new head football coach, succeeding David Diaz-Infante. Williams has coached at high school, college, NFL and international levels, including Hawaii, Washington, San Jose State and the Jacksonville Jaguars, and served as Yale's head coach from 2009–2011, resigning in 2011 after admitting a false claim about a Rhodes scholarship. Bellarmine conducted four rounds of interviews, background checks and reference calls before hiring and concluded Williams aligns with the school's Jesuit values. Williams inherits a struggling program that went 0–10 in 2024 and is 4–26 over the past three seasons and is charged with rebuilding the team.
