Belichick to stay course as UNC flounders again
"The main thing we need to do is to keep doing what we're doing but do them better. Fundamentally we're not doing the wrong things, we're just not doing them well enough."
"It's a lack of concentration, and part of that is coaching, too, so I'll take my share of the responsibility."
"We're honest with them, honest that we're building, and if you want to be a part of a program that's being built, then we're here for you."
Kenan Stadium attendance fell dramatically before halftime as North Carolina lost 38-10 to Clemson, trailing 28-3 after the first quarter and allowing 14 points on Clemson's first four plays. The Tar Heels are 0-3 against Power Four opponents and have been outscored 120-33 in those games. Bill Belichick said the team must keep doing the same things but execute them better, blamed a lack of concentration, and accepted coaching responsibility. General manager Mike Lombardi described the effort as a rebuilding campaign and cited a dearth of talent from past recruiting exits. Belichick tells recruits the program is being built and invites players to join that process.
