
"Coastal North Bay including Point Reyes National Seashore, San Francisco Peninsula Coast, Northern Monterey Bay and Southern Monterey Bay and Big Sur Coast as well as San Francisco County are under a beach hazards statement which was released by the National Weather Service on Tuesday at 4:28 a.m. The statement is valid from 4 p.m. until Wednesday Dec. 24, at 4 a.m."
"The NWS San Francisco CA says to be ready for, Hazardously strong coastal winds and jets will lead to blowing and drifting sand, wind waves up to 20 ft, and result in poor visibility along coastal beaches. Dangerous coastal and near coastal conditions. Water rescues may be affected by poor visibility from sea spray and blowing sand. Potential for increased erosion, the NWS said."

The statement is in effect from 4 p.m. Tuesday until 4 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 24. Hazardously strong coastal winds and jets will produce blowing and drifting sand, wind waves up to 20 feet, and poor visibility along beaches. Water rescues may be hindered by sea spray and blowing sand, and increased erosion is possible. Avoid the coast during this period and never turn your back to the ocean.
