Agents exited without visible badges or agency markings and gave no clear verbal commands. The agents rammed the van four times and forced it into a parking lot, then violently detained the pair on the ground in a restaurant depot lot. The U.S.-born teenage passenger was placed in a chokehold, required treatment at a children's trauma unit and received morphine. The teen's confiscated iPhone was later pawned near the ICE processing center where his father was held.
