A magnitude 2.7 earthquake occurred around 12 p.m. on a Tuesday in New Jersey, and residents in New York City reported feeling the tremor. This event follows a magnitude 3.0 earthquake that had shaken the same region just days before. A resident from the Bronx, Bernice Cousar, described the sensation of the earthquake, noting a rattling sound and the feeling of shaking walls. Fortunately, no significant damage was reported by New York City's Office of Emergency Management following the incident.
"All of a sudden, I hear racking, racking, racking," Cousar said. "Then my husband was in the bedroom, and he said it felt like the walls were shaking like that."
New York City's Office of Emergency Management said there were no reports of major damage.
