Twenty-one employees of the United States DOGE Service have resigned, expressing concerns over the organization’s direction under billionaire advisor Elon Musk. In a publicly posted letter, the resigning staff, who began their tenure before the Trump administration, emphasized their commitment to ethical public service and protecting Americans' sensitive data. They asserted their inability to continue working at DOGE, citing a breakdown of their core values and mission as civil servants, especially in light of recent personnel changes at the agency.
We will not use our skills as technologists to compromise core government systems, jeopardize Americans' sensitive data, or dismantle critical public services.
As civil servants, we remained committed throughout the Presidential Transition to delivering better government services through technology and stood ready to partner with incoming officials.
