After drinking alcohol served by fraternity members, a group of students, including Won Jang, went swimming in a river where he drowned. His blood alcohol level was significantly over the legal limit.
The Hanover police indicated that numerous attendees did not realize Jang was missing because they left the party in different groups, despite knowing Jang could not swim.
