2 adults and 4 children were traveling on the Maine Turnpike when their trailer had an issue. An ensuing crash killed both adults.
"The trailer, now connected to their 2017 GMC Acadia only by the safety chains, was still partially in the roadway shortly before 4:30 a.m. when the two adults - a man and a woman - and two of the kids exited their vehicle to fix the issue, police said. At that time, a 2015 Audi SUV struck the trailer and the GMC from behind."
"The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The man, who had been driving the GMC, was taken to Maine Medical Center, where he later died. All four children suffered minor injuries and were also transported to Maine Medical Center. "Relationship information and family details are still being confirmed," police said, noting names would not be released at this time but all were from Lewiston."
