You might be following Second Lady Usha Vance on Instagram now | TechCrunch
Briefly

Starting Wednesday, Meta will merge the Instagram accounts of Usha Vance, the new Second Lady of the United States, and Doug Emhoff, the former Second Gentleman. As part of this process, all followers from Emhoff's archived account will transition to Vance's new account @SLOTUS, which currently has less than 66,000 followers. Meta confirmed this account transition follows their standard protocol during presidential handovers. Users may experience delays while processing follow and unfollow requests on the new account due to high traffic.
Following the White House creating an account for the Second Lady, we are transitioning the Second Gentleman account to @SLOTUS,
At the time, Meta explained this was part of a regular process in which White House social media accounts, including their followers, are handed over to the new administration when a new President takes office.
Usha Vance is obtaining the former Second Gentleman's Instagram followers now because the White House only recently created her @SLOTUS account, according to Meta.
Be aware that if you try to unfollow @SLOTUS on Instagram, your request may not immediately go through.
