An Army spokesperson confirmed Thursday that an employee was 'abruptly pushed aside' while trying to enforce cemetery rules against political activities, which are prohibited by federal law.
'Participants in the August 26th ceremony were made aware of federal laws, Army regulations and DoD policies, which clearly prohibit political activities on cemetery grounds,' the Army's statement emphasized.
Cemetery officials informed Trump's team that only personal aides could attend and that no campaign staff or photography would be permissible at the graves of U.S. service members.
The cemetery employee who faced the Trump campaign's aggressive approach opted not to file charges, citing concerns of retaliation from supporters.
