Trump says he's considering ways to serve a third term as president
Briefly

President Donald Trump indicated he is contemplating potential methods to serve a third term, challenging the constraints imposed by the 22nd Amendment. In a recent NBC interview, he emphasized it's too early to strategize seriously, while also expressing a blatant desire to maintain power. Critics, including Rep. Daniel Goldman, voiced alarm at this notion, deeming it a further undermining of democracy. Amidst constitutional experts' disapproval, and despite encouragement from his allies, the likelihood of Trump successfully pursuing a third term remains legally questionable.
There are methods which you could do it, Trump said in a telephone interview with NBC News from Mar-a-Lago, his private club.
This is yet another escalation in his clear effort to take over the government and dismantle our democracy, said Rep. Daniel Goldman.
If Congressional Republicans believe in the Constitution, they will go on the record opposing Trump's ambitions for a third term.
Jeremy Paul, a constitutional law professor at Boston's Northeastern University, said there are no credible legal arguments for him to run for a third term.
