Letters: Harris for president | Liccardo for Congress
Briefly

In the romantic comedy "The American President," Michael Douglas said, "Being President of this country is entirely about character." This is particularly relevant in the 2024 election where the focus is on character. Harris stands as a candidate who embodies this quality, poised against a backdrop of candidates who often engage in outrageous remarks and insults.
For me, the decision is easy. I support Kamala Harris for president. Harris has spent her career on the side of the people, prosecuting those who break the law. Her commitment to our Constitution and the rule of law is unquestioned, especially in contrast to a candidate like Trump, who has been convicted of multiple felonies and does not exhibit the character necessary for the presidency.
I was thrilled to see that the Mercury News has endorsed Sam Liccardo in the race for Anna Eshoo's seat in Congress. His neighborhood talks showcase his intellect, curiosity, and commitment to vital national issues, such as climate change and transportation policy. Liccardo has the qualities necessary to politically represent Silicon Valley effectively and is personable and responsive.
