Kosoglu, a longtime Harris ally whose departure from the VP's office in 2022 helped fuel concerns about high turnover in Harris' office, describes the lens through which Harris views policy: Harris "is always pushing us to think through people's different lived experiences," Kosoglu said. "She will raise things like: 'How would somebody living in a rural area consider this? How is this accessible for somebody that is going through a hardship?'"
Harris' inner circle includes key figures like Brian Nelson, who advises on policy and has previously worked with Harris during her time as California's attorney general and in the U.S. Senate. His extensive experience includes being the Treasury Department's undersecretary for terrorism and financial intelligence.
Phil Gordon has served as Harris' national security adviser since her earlier presidential campaign and brings experience from senior roles focused on Europe and Middle Eastern issues in both the Clinton and Obama administrations.
Minyon Moore, a longtime Democratic operative, has been closely associated with Harris' campaign strategy and her political resume includes roles dating back to the Clinton White House and significant involvement in various Democratic campaigns.
