I attended 2 Tesla Takedown protests in Michigan. The generation that showed up was the one I least expected.
Briefly

Protesters across the U.S., including nearly 400 in Ann Arbor, gathered at Tesla showrooms to express concern over Elon Musk's role under Trump's administration. They worry this influence threatens democratic values and adversely impacts the middle class and minorities. The protests, dubbed "Tesla Takedown," began in February and aim to highlight Musk's perceived threat to democracy. With chants like 'Elon Musk has got to go' and colorful signs expressing various sentiments, the events showcased a growing apprehension regarding Musk's political involvement and its implications for federal governance.
The gathering was one of more than 200 scheduled to take place outside Tesla showrooms nationwide on Saturday. These gatherings are part of "Tesla Takedown," an effort that began in February and describes itself as a "peaceful protest movement" to stop Musk's illegal coup.
Protesters said they fear Musk's influence threatens democracy and impacts the middle class and minorities, rallying together to express concerns over his advisory role under Trump.
'Hey, hey, ho, ho, Elon Musk has got to go,' the group chanted as they paced up and down the sidewalk outside the dealership, waving their signs in the air.
More than a couple of signs, I noticed, were emblazoned with the phrase 'Fire Elon Musk.' One said, 'Elon Musk smells like oligarchy and ketamine.'
