'Game on' - Budget giveaway kicks off election race as Taoiseach Simon Harris canvasses in capital

The Taoiseach emphasized he will not provide running commentary on election timing, focusing instead on completing government work and respecting coalition leaders.

Mr. Harris reaffirmed, 'I want the Government to finish its work… There's a lot of work to do to make sure that people get the benefits we put in place yesterday.'

Tánaiste Micheál Martin criticized the Irish Fiscal Advisory Council's stance on Budget 2025, arguing that it reflects a misunderstanding of needed government support.

Despite expectations of an impending election, Mr. Harris insists government priorities remain—such as passing the Finance Bill related to the recent Budget.
