David Axelrod emphasized the impact of racism and sexism on Kamala Harris's election defeat, acknowledging biases while also recognizing the strategic strengths of Trump's campaign.
Axelrod asserted that while racism and sexism should not be blamed entirely for Harris's loss, they undeniably influenced the outcome, stating, 'anybody who thinks that did not in any way impact on the outcome of this race is wrong.'
Co-panelist Van Jones highlighted the double standards for candidates of color, stating, 'There is a license that [Trump] had to just be a fool... such behavior is unthinkable for other candidates.'
Jones further pointed out that despite Harris's extensive qualifications, her defeat is indicative of societal biases, noting, 'She is not Oprah or Beyonce,' reflecting the different expectations for candidates of color.
